Project Name: Shenzhen Science and Technology Park Smart Park Backbone Network Upgrade Project
Client: Shenzhen National High-Tech Industrial Park
Implementer: Guangdong Huajiayu Optical Communication Technology Co., Ltd. (HJY)
Product Model: 4-channel Single-Fiber CCWDM Module (PN: FM-CCWMUX-BD4A4761)
1. Project Background
As a comprehensive science and technology park integrating R&D, office, and data center functions, the park’s original fiber backbone network adopted a traditional dual-fiber transmission mode. With the growth of enterprises settled in the park, the expansion of HD monitoring, IoT terminals, and data center services, the existing fiber resources gradually became saturated. New fiber laying was costly, time-consuming, and could not meet the business demands for bandwidth and latency.
Core customer requirements:
Increase backbone bandwidth without adding new fibers.
Realize single-fiber bidirectional transmission to reduce network deployment costs.
Ensure stable transmission of multiple services (data, video, IoT) and support future business expansion.
2. Solution Design
HJY’s technical team, in combination with the park’s existing network architecture, adopted a passive single-fiber CCWDM WDM solution by deploying 4-channel CCWDM modules (TX: 1470/1510/1550/1590nm, RX: 1490/1530/1570/1610nm). This enabled single-fiber bidirectional 8-wavelength transmission, quadrupling the original single-fiber bandwidth.
Key Deployment Points:
Core Nodes: Deploy HJY 4CH CCWDM modules at the park’s data center and each building’s aggregation node to complete bidirectional data transmission over a single fiber.
Service Bearer:
1470nm/1490nm: Bear park office data services
1510nm/1530nm: Bear HD video monitoring services
1550nm/1570nm: Bear IoT terminal data collection services
1590nm/1610nm: Reserved for data center interconnection services
Passive Characteristics: The modules require no power supply and have no active components, reducing O&M costs and failure points while improving network reliability.
3. Implementation Results
Bandwidth Improvement: Single-fiber capacity increased from 1Gbps to 4Gbps, meeting business growth demands for the next 3–5 years.
Cost Optimization: Avoided new fiber laying, saving approximately 60% of network expansion costs, and shortened the deployment cycle to 2 weeks.
Service Stability: The passive design ensured 7×24-hour stable operation of multiple park services with no packet loss or latency fluctuations.
Scalability: Reserved wavelength channels support subsequent new services without replacing core equipment.
4. Client Testimonial
"HJY’s passive single-fiber CCWDM solution precisely solved our pain point of insufficient fiber resources. Without damaging the park’s existing infrastructure, we achieved an efficient upgrade of the backbone network. The product stability and technical service exceeded expectations, providing reliable communication support for our smart park construction."
—— Park Informatization Director
